Overall, this watch is nice. I've used it snow shoe camping, mountaineering, hiking, running, biking and bragging! ;) Cons: The GPS will take upwards of 5+ minutes to "Lock On" to the satellites. I typically place it on the "1 second fix" setting before turning on the GPS, then once it's locked on amendment it back to "1 minute fix" or "manual" betting on my activity. Once it's obtained an initial lock, subsequent locks appear to be faster. Battery life on the one second fix setting is low, 6 hrs, simply as advertised. except for most of my activities, the one minute or manual fix choices offer many battery life. The watch offers plenty of options and as such there is a learning curve. Expect to pay a couple of hours wiggling with it. The user manual might use some work... The watch isn't compatible with the mac version of TOPO! You can't pull your track log directly from TOPO! (pc version). you have got to drag the log using Trek Manager, export to a txt file, then import into TOPO!. This most likely is not the watches fault however instead TOPO!s. Pros: Once the GPS is locked on, it'll track you anywhere. It works nice in deep forest. It works nice on the highest of or within the shadows of mountains. It works during a automobile. It works within the town. I've never not had it work, except indoors, however then why would you employ a GPS inside? The navigation operate for following pre-set routes and finding waypoints is nice. Even higher is that the track back feature.
